The 2020 Mount Michael Pinot Gris is all about palate weight, texture, and balance with wonderful aromas of bruleed pears, ginger and spice followed by a textural and concentrated mouthful of baked pears and custard apples with a long textural finish, balanced with perfect refreshing acidity.

A new member of the Mount Michael Family – both in wine and in namesake. Isla is our Premium Reserve Pinot Noir and is named after a granddaughter made in the same vintage.
Made with pristine fruit from the Bendigo, the hottest Sub-region in Central Otago this boutique wine has a firm nose of ripe, dark red fruits with herbaceous elements that unfold into nutty and distinctive oak aromas. Rich and luscious on the palate with concentrated dark berries, plum and liquorice, fine tannins and balanced acidity. This is a serious Pinot Noir, a treat to drink now but your patience will be rewarded with further cellaring.
Only 115 cases of this wine were made and spent 12 months in French oak before further cellaring for release in April 2019.

The Mountaineer 2020 Pinot Gris is bursting with crisp green apple, pear, and white floral aromatics. Fresh granny smith apples with a slight blush of sweet nashi pear on the palate perfectly balance this fresh, off dry Central Otago Pinot Gris.
’20 MOUNT MICHAEL PINOT NOIR ROSE$28.50 – $342.00
Crafted with 100% Premium Pinot Noir, harvested from the Tarra’s sub-region of Central Otago. The wine was crushed and left for around half a day of skin contact. 50% was then racked to old oak, wild fermented and went through a partial malolactic fermentation with the remaining being cool fermented in stainless steel, before bottling in August 2020.
The Mount Michael Rose is crafted with 100% Central Otago premium Pinot Noir. Vibrantly aromatic, dry in style yet packed with ruby grapefruit, strawberry and raspberries. The palate is long and full, bursting with bright red berries and perfectly balanced mineral acidity.

Cool fermentation and partial maturation in neutral oak has led to a wine bursting with fresh strawberry, watermelon and cherry blossom aromas, packed with vibrant strawberry and cherries on the palate, perfectly balanced by mouth-watering, crisp acidity and a lingering finish.
